20 or 30 Amp Power Input Support
20-amp power input support - IEC320/C20 power inletreceptacles supports any power cord with IEC320/C19 power connector(PTCORD-XX). 30-amp power input support provides hard-wired 10' cordand appropriate L5-30 or L6-30 plug type.
24-character Outlet Receptacles Names
Use the firmware interface (Web or serial) to edit individualoutlet receptacles. Identify each receptacle with the device's serialnumber, ip address, asset allocation #, department or any other methodto individually name outlets.
Add a Second Tower
Connect an Expansion Module to any Smart or Switched CDU to control two powerinput circuits and 32 managed outlets (individual or groups) - ourexclusive strategy for managing dual power-supply servers.
Firmware Flash Upgradeable
Access new firmware updates via FTP for new firmware featuresand code releases. An update to the firmware does not affect the statusof the power outlets.
HTTP/HTTPs Web Configuration & Control
Use the Sentry Web interface to configure each unit, includingnetwork settings, outlet naming & grouping, SNMP traps forenvironmental & power thresholds and firmware updates. Also use the Web interface to control individual or group outlets and monitorkey values, including amperage load(s), temperature/humidity and other environmental conditions. SSL security provides a secure HTTPsconnection.
Integrate Environmental Monitoring
The EMCU -Environmental Monitor integrates easily with the Power TowerXL, or other Sentry Remote Power Manager. Locate the EMCU in theequipment cabinet with a PTXL, link it to the PTXL and viewtemperature, humidity, water sensing and dry contact closures from thesame PTXL interface you use to manage and monitor the power.
Integrated Temp/Humidity Probes
Two (2) RJ-style connectors located on the face panel of thePDU's enclosure provide support for two (2) Integrated Temperature& Humidity Probes with ten-foot (10') cables provide real-timemeasurements in the data center cabinet.
LDAP
LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) is a softwareprotocol for enabling anyone to locate organizations, individuals, andother resources such as files and devices in a network, whether on thepublic Internet or on a corporate intranet. Sentry firmware code 5.3band newer includes support for LDAP v3 and is configurable tooperate with any Directory Service. It has been tested with theseDirectory Services: Microsoft’s Active Directory, Novell’s eDirectory,OpenLDAP
Load Sense
Individual input current monitoring ("Load Sense") providesreal-time power measurement of the load in amps on each power inlet, accessible via firmware interface.
Remote Power Control
Individual or group outlet remote power control to cycle powerand reboot any selected server(s) or other network device(s). Use TCP/IP (HTTP, HTTPS, SSH, Telnet, SNMP) or RS-232 to communicatewith each Sentry and rectify locked-up network devices. Assign outletsto a group for control of dual-powersupply servers and other gear with a single command. Createan unlimited number of groups with any combination of outletsassociated to each group. Reduce Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) of afailing server by controlling individual power outlet receptacles toreboot any selected server or other device.
RS-232 Control
Serial control via any device with a bi-directional serialport, including a PC, laptop, KVM switch, Console Port Access switch,or terminal server.
Secure Access - SSH or SSL Protection
Secure Shell (SSH), sometimes known as Secure Socket Shell, isa Unix-based command interface and protocol for securely getting accessto a remote device. Sentry supports SSHv2. Secure SocketsLayer (SSL) is a commonly-used protocol for managing the security of amessage transmission on the Internet. SSL is an integral part of mostWeb browsers (clients) and Web servers. Sentry supportsSSLv3/TLSv1.
SNMP Management & Event Notification
The Sentry family of products supports the Simple NetworkManagement Protocol (SNMP). This allows network management systems touse SNMP requests to retrieve information and control power for theindividual outlets. The Sentry includes an SNMP v1 agent supportingstandard MIB I and MIB II objects. A private enterprise MIB extension(Sentry3 MIB) is also supported to provide remote power control. SNMPtraps can be generated for various events, including Input Current LoadThresholds (min & max), Temperature Thresholds (min &max), Humidity Thresholds (min & max), water indication, closedcontacts (cabinet doors open/close), as well as notification of anytime an outlet status is changed (on/off).
Zero U Enclosure
A vertical enclsoure that occupies Zero Vertical U of rackspace in the equipment cabinet. It mounts on the back rails orin the cavitity space of the cabinet.
